     Your credit report is a report card on how you pay your bills.  Just like school, you have some homework to do, if you want your report card to have all A's. 

     Besides paying your bills on time, you need to make sure that you close unused accounts to make sure your credit report looks the best it can.  Checking your credit report on a regular basis will assure that you are aware of any negative comments and give you the opportunity to correct them.  It is no fun to discover a negative blemish on your credit report when you are sitting in your mortgage broker's office and you are ready to buy your dream house.  Plan ahead and avoid mistakes.
